“Shed My Skin” is a dark fairy tale about the fictional crowning of the Dunce and his ultimate sacrifice to appease the greedy King. It mirrors the lyrics as a comment on society as a whole, exploiting and using others for their resources.
"The video was filmed over 3 days in 2 locations in Brooklyn, NY, using 2 cameras. Fun fact: the “oil” is actually chocolate syrup mixed with maple syrup! All special effects were done live. The backdrop with fading lights was created by hand by John Patrick Wells, with light bulbs running in the material on dimmer switches from back stage"
